Cooperative Economics Ministry
The Cooperative Economics Ministry is derived from one of the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa. During the Christmas season, African Americans celebrate seven principles that affirm our commitment to unity (Umoja), self determination (Kujichagulia), collective work and responsibility (Ujima), cooperative economics (Ujamaa), purpose (Nia), creativity (Kuumba), and faith (Imani).
The Ujamaa principle captures the empowerment of African-Americans to build and maintain stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.
The spirit of Ujamaa at Bethel Church is reflected in this cooperative economics resource of business and enterprises owned and operated by Bethel members. We encourage you to cooperatively patronize and promote African American businesses. Ujamaa!
